Tips for contacting your MP

1. Check their details

Some representatives have specific channels they wish to be contacted on, or manners in which they wish to be addressed. Although this website includes their Parliamentary E-Mail, it's always safest to check on their website or official profile to ensure you're being respectful.

2. Be polite

It's likely that representatives will have more than just your concerns on their table. Holding an office is stressful, so being kind and polite makes the job a little bit easier. Remember that all politicians are human beings. Sending them abusive messages won't make your problems go away!

3. Be specific

From sitting in the chamber to holding surgeries, representatives are busy, and receive hundreds of messages about local issues. Make sure that your thoughts and issues are made clear quickly, and that the details are correct. After all, MPs receive lots of communications, so they need to know the problem as quickly as possible.

4. Contact the right representative!
